1. Locate the package (PkgCatalog.z) file, on the
product CD or in the installation ZIP file
downloaded from the McAfee web site, and save it
to a temporary folder accessible from the
ePolicy Orchestrator server.
2. Log on to the ePolicy Orchestrator server as an
ePolicy Orchestrator global administrator.
3. In the ePolicy Orchestrator console tree, click
Repository. Click Check in Package on the
Repository page.
4. In the Check in package wizard, click Next.
5. Select Products or updates and click Next.
6. Click Browse and type the full path of the
PkgCatalog.z file for PreScan and click Next.
7. A progress bar indicates when the files are
successfully uploaded. Click Finish. Once the
files are successfully uploaded, the Check in
package wizard appears. Click Close to complete
the package check-in process.
To deploy PreScan using the ePolicy Orchestrator
server:
1. From the ePolicy Orchestrator Directory, select
the required site, group or computer.
2. Click Tasks in the upper details pane for
PreScan. Double-click Deployment. The ePolicy
Orchestrator Scheduler dialog box appears.
3. Deselect Inherit to change settings for the
selected site, group, or computer.
4. Click Settings to open ePolicy Orchestrator
Agent Product Deployment Task.
5. Deselect Inherit. Under Product Deployments
options in the Action list, select Install for
PreScan. The PreScan application deploys when
the Deployment task is run.
6. Select Run this task at every policy enforcement
interval if you want to enforce the deployment
policy at every agent-server communication
interval.
7. Click OK to return to the ePolicy Orchestrator
Scheduler dialog box.
NOTE:
1. Before running PreScan, please download the latest
DAT package from the McAfee web site and update the
ePolicy Orchestrator client computer with the latest
DATs. Refer to the ePolicy Orchestrator
documentation for details.
2. You can run PreScan on the client using a
combination of ePolicy Orchestrator PreScan
policy and a separate ePolicy Orchestrator
configured PreScan task. Refer to the ePolicy
Orchestrator Product Guide for more information
on application deployment and managing ePolicy
Orchestrator repositories.
UNINSTALLING PRESCAN USING EPOLICY ORCHESTRATOR
To remove PreScan from the client computer using
ePolicy Orchestrator server:
1. Select the required site, group or computer in
the ePolicy Orchestrator Directory, then select
Tasks.
2. Open the Deployment task and click Settings on
the Task tab. Change the action for PreScan to
Remove.
3. Schedule this task to remove McAfee PreScan on
the client computer.

from the ePolicy Orchestrator repository:
